Happy Birthday CANADAHappy Birthday there neighbor to the north :beers:
Attachment 23204 Hope it's a great one and you each get a cupcake  And save one for the 'Royals' :D Attached Thumbnails New garage is up..We started in mid June with our new garage addition to our old farm house. The pole barn and camaro garage are over 100' away from the house. In January at -30 and snow blowing, its to far for Mrs. Click to walk carrying 5 bags of groceries and a 12 pack. :D So as the general contractor I called my subs and they were anxious to get to work. For anyone interested here is a folder of pics of the progress: Photos of Garage Loft Entry Porch
We started with a simple layout of an attached double garage, 24x26. I have plenty of pole barn 32x48 and camaro shop 26x28, so this size is fine for us. But above the garage we designed it using 'attic trusses' which gives us a 17x26 loft area for my wife's crafts and projects plus that will be our 'guest room' when kids and grand kids come to visit. Our house is just a 1 bedroom place. Then we fit a new entry area into the plan, 10x24 so we have place for coats and hats and boots and nice entryway that we dont have now. Then with the trusses we could add another 12' in back of the garage and presto we have a 12'x 36' screen porch area to keep the mosquitos away. Here is the layout: Here is view of porch on back of the garage: here is view of the loft area on top of the garage: view of front of garage, entry door on the left: Son in law is helping on weekends with little stuff, hurrican clips, blocking between truss bottom cords, beefing up old house attic beams, misc. stuff we can do ourselve. The crew basically started June 13th and the roof is on June 30th, more OSB to nail onto gable ends. Cement slabs go in next Wed. and Thur. then we take it over from there. We will do soffits and facia, insulation, siding, elec., garage doors, entry doors etc. So for the last 3 weeks Ive been kinda busy, but it is fun type work too. Now will come the questions Im sure. Ask away :D Stainless ExhaustI have a 67 SS 396 convertible and I'm looking for bolt on stainless exhaust that reproduces the stock appearance. Has anyone used the stainless kit listed below on a 67 SS 396 convertible? How was the fit/finish of the kit? Did the exhaust require any re-bend/modification? I've seen exhausts built specifically for convertibles and want to make sure I get the proper kit. Also looking for something that's truly bolt on.
http://www.classicindustries.com/cam.../se678bb1.html Retro Electro RS headlight door timing...I received my retro electro kit last week and got it all installed the same day. It was super easy right out of the box and they work GREAT. My only question is, does anyone else have an issue with the doors closing out of sync? My passenger side closes about 1-2 seconds before the drivers side. Is this normal? They open perfectly in sync but the closing is off. Thanks in advance...
Detroit Speed Subframe = mechanical clutch? Can anyone confirm that the DSE subframes for 1st Gen Camaros accept mechanical clutch linkage? All the pictures I've seen have been on cars with hydraulic clutches.
Thanks! Overspray Removal HelpHey Guys
What would be the best thing to use to remove overspray? The car subframe was completely detailed with Rustolumin 7777 paint....well the body shop made a complete disaster of all the detail work that I did by overspraying everything with primer. Can I use something like Acitone or mineral spirits to remove this....and not ruin the actual paint? Thanks for any suggestions....:beers: :beers: Harmonic balancer wobble fix?We replaced the balancer on this L92 and now have a wobble. Its noteworthy that the original design had two belts on it, one for the AC, the other for the alt and steering. Now its a single complete serpentine.
Any ideas how much wobble is acceptable? Any ideas how to eliminate wobble? Perhaps a bad new balancer? Maybe pull and re install? The shop is talking about pulling the crank!!! Uhg!!! Any input at all appreciated. Thanks so much. 00 Camaro SS power steering leakmy 00 camaro ss has a major leak that i cant pinpoint and in doing so it has made my alternator go out. i recently refilled my power steering fluid and after i jumped the car and ran it for a few mins (still connected to jumpers) the fluid started leaking tremendously and soaked my alternator and everything around it. its obvious i need a new alternator but anybody know what i can do as far as fixing the leak or finding where its located. i noticed alot of lines coming from the power steering area (few that seem to be leaking?) but not quite sure. help would be greatly appreciated as i am on short time and outta options. thanks
Oil Light on After HEI InstallHaven't posted in a long time. HELP!!
Just finished installing Edelbrock Performer II manifold, Holley 670, and a Pertonix HEI distributor. Now my oil light is on all the time. Oil pressure gauge shows good pressure just like before. I spliced the wire that was on the "-" side of the coil with the tach wire (it was also on the "-" of the coil). The tach works just like it did before the swap. Do I have a ground issue? I guess if worse comes to worse I can always take out the idiot light since I have a oil pressure gauge? 1967 Camaro L-78 project carWhat's it worth? Attached Thumbnails In need of headers for my 67 with tall deck 572, suggestions pleaseI am in need of the some headers for my 67 with a tall deck 572. The motor has Brodix Race Rite heads with exhaust ports in the stock location. I looked in the Dynatechs and they look nice but they say thier headers only fit the GMPP 572 and while I think mine will be physically the same I am not 100% sure. The Doug's headers look nice but I would like to talk to someone that has tried them if possible. Some on the internet have said they used standard deck Hookers on a tall deck with no problems but I would like some more feedback before I gamble on that. If you have any experience with a tall deck bbc in a first gen I would love to hear your experience. Thanks
Steve six cylinderHow much is a 68 camaro with a six cylinder worth?
And is it a nice car to have? Membership renewal timeI wanted to say thanks to all you guys who have supplied me with my much needed info on my 67 restro. Because of that I bought the life time membership this time. If I never signed on again I have received more info that the $59 cost.
Thanks again guys and look foward to many more years to come. Joel Purging the hydro-electric systemThe convertible top motor on my 67 no longer works and I purchased a new replacement. The old motor/system contained some evil smelling brake fluid (super 11?). The new motor says to use ATF in the system if you want a warranty on the motor and that ATF and brake fluid are not compatible, OK! Now then, does anybody know of a good way to purge the brake fluid out of the system? The motor retailer couldn't provide an answer.
I took the lines off the motor and collapsed the top clear down, that got rid of most of it but the lines are still nearly full and I suppose there may be a bit of fluid in the cylinders. I don't want to remove the cylinders (again!) but that may be the only out? hipirn valve springsAfter 2 years of not driving my camaro, I have finally got it out to re paint it and finish the motor - I stopped driving it because a my driveshaft U- Joint broke looseft and tore up the underneath of my car. Welp, finally getting it fixed and time to finish what I started. Right before i stopped driving it, I purchased some world product cast iron heads- 64cc with 200cc runners. they have roller rockers with .550 lift springs. The guy I got them from mentioned the valve springs were meant for a solid cam but since my car broke, i never investigated it.
My cam is the voodoo 268 hydro flat tappet, and just curious if these springs are to much for what I have. I can post pictures up this weekend when I head to my parents A few teasers as I build it over the next few months. Attached Thumbnails |
